My Cat - Shana's Cat

This cat is huge! But as docile as a kitten.. He doesn't miaow like other cats, instead it makes 'meh meh' sound, so we call him Meme.. Neutered since it was a kitten, this cat is already 4 years old..
Breed : Chantily/Tiffany
Age : 4 years
Weight : 5.2 KG
Length (Head-Tail) 3 Feet
Height : 1 foot

Lisbeth & Colin - Congratulations!

This would only be pictorial.... Ok I'm lying! Can't resist the tempation to criticize food... Anyway, was at Lisbeth and Colin's wedding reception last night, which was held at the ever-popular Promenade.. Can't say much about the hotel as I used to frequent the place a lot for gym or for food (that was almost an oxymoron!).

The newlyweds... Kissing on stage, with the parents looking, along with hundreds of guests.. (Cricket Chirp) I bet that was awkward!

Starters - Hot and Cold Combination.... Aaaa... average.
Food entry presentation was boring though. Can't people come up with something new?!

Soup - Fish Maw and Scallop - aaaa.... Average..

Barbequed Chicken with Garlic and Sweet Dip/Spiced Salt - YUMM!!!

Steamed Garoupa in Supreme Soya Sauce - I think supreme soya sauce spoiled the fish! It overpowered the sweetness of the fresh fish, plus our fish was oversteamed, evident here from the peeling skin.. Plus the fish looked grotesque, so I took the opportunity to take a photo from this angle, so that it might remind you of a zombied corpse on a table..
Sliced Beef with Black Pepper Sauce - I think the name should be 'Black Sliced Beef in Pepper Sauce'.. What's with the colour? Every bite reminds me of the time I had to take charcoal pills..

Deep Fried Buttered Prawns - Presentation was nice, portioning good, taste was good, but selection of prawn size is questionable.. Some prawns were merely shrimps! Plus I counted and there were a lot of prawn heads rather than the actual prawn itself..

Braised Tao Pau with Bamboo Weeds - My absolute favourite... WHY? Because when it came out, it looked like a dog just barfed over our vegetable. Dear Chef, please don't over 'sauce', especially with ingredients that are slippery and slimy as they absorb more fluid and take on wierd shapes.. The taste was good, but several people on my table refused to try it because it looked disgusting..SIGH

Curry Fried Rice with Chicken Meat and Prawns - Have we run out of ideas? Curried Fried Rice? Come on! Enough Said..

Anyway, rather than being progressively disappointed with the food, I diverted my attention to my friends as they were equally making fun of each other... :P

KK's Q bar - Not for the Boring Ones

I was at Q Bar on Saturday night.. To all who speculates - Yes, it's True, Q Bar is the most fun place anyone can ever be in KK at any time. Why? Because the crowd is friskier, energetic and vibrant. Plus, everyone's beautiful, because smiles are genuine.

Here's why I say this: -
A likely conversation in other nightclubs in KK : "Oooo.. I am the son/daughter of Tengku/Tan Sri/Datuk/YB anu bin anu.. and he makes so and so million ringgits a year. Today I had to drive his Mercedes/Ninja King because the porsche/range rover/BMW/Helicopter is in the workshop." and so the conversation continues between snooty rich kids elsewhere in KK.

BORING!!

Whereas in Q Bar : "Aluuuuuu rayang, bonggha kau nde'! Wis-Aching. Mana sudah Gurang Wis-Tung yang kau biasa lafang/oring tu? Wah Wah! Beauty/BeeWhy kau sekarang Biga'! Ni La pasal jadi queen coughing.. ISNAP CHING!! Layasss nde'... Wisss Booooooking..

COLOURFULL!!

Sounds foreign? Of course it is! Even university level linguists wouldn't be able to decipher this secret code. Only the wise and beautiful would know this ancient language.. Ahaks!

Mirror-Mirror ... err... near the ceiling -
Who's the fairest one for my err.. Liking?
Apart from me?

Great Decor!

Anyway, back to my intention:

Q BAr's Suave, Chic and Sexy Interior

I was asked to be auditor for Miss Kaamatan Q Bar and it was FUN!! Amidst the cat calls and whistles and screams, people were genuinely having fun. Music was upbeat and current, interior was suave, themed and sexy, while staff were friendly and have the decency to remember your name. Most importantly, drinks were CHEAP!!

A view of the stage from the Bar

I had fun that night, not merely from the competition itself, but also from the genuinely friendly crowd. Get over your fears, and you would see that customers at Q Bar are just people out to have fun. You don't hear snooty/macho/pretentious conversations of people having rich dads or that they belong in a triad or so.

OSCAR'S CORNER - India

ALBERT'S CORNER -Bali

PLUS, you don't get fights, girls/women would NEVER get harassed by Keladi Men, and theft is non-existent. Apart from that, you can play pool, or lounge in any of it's three themed corners namely Oscar's, Karim's and Albert's.

A Sotong Cake - Aptly named for Sotong's Birthday :p
I wonder why there is a big candle in its mouth?

I would start posting upcoming events at Q Bar as I am a fan of the place.

My Monday Surprise

I celebrated my 31st Birthday on Sunday.. Yes, I am 31.. BUT... When in excitement, people can instantly turn from 31 to 13. Wanna see a man turn into a boy? View my photos below:-

The Happiest Birthday Boy on the Planet!

Like a Child receiving a christmas gift..

This year I wanted to have a quieter affair, because I have passed the threshold of youth and into maturity. But this morning, I was blushing with excitement from the Surptise Birthday Party that the office organised for me.

My Beautiful gift!! No you can't have it..
Thank you to Joanne, Candice, Yana, Ollie, Rosalind, Wana, Jen, Vin, Bazz, Awang, Maria, Az, Faz, Henny, Sheela and Linah.. You're the best!! Hugs

I feel yucky!!

This is what I took this morning..

Why?

Because I was caught in the rain last night. I was caught in the rain because of the bloody traffic jam. There was a bloody traffic jam because everyone was panic-buying fuel. People were panic-buying fuel because of the sudden announcement by the government to drastically increase fuel price. Enough said!

This was the first time I was made uncomfortable, by actions and decisions that were not thought off carefully. I can understand the rationale behind the price hike, but the sudden announcement to increase it overnight is ridiculous! I resent this.. Immediate consequences were mostly negative, while the mid and long term effect is still unknown. Textbook theories cannot be applied, as the world spins on a different motion now, governed by who's powerful, and power only comes with one thing; MONEY.. And we all most certainly don't have it..

Twinkle Twinkle Upperstar - Would a Steamboat get your far?

Two Dinners in One Night! I could still taste the fish ball in my breath.

I believe overeating is bad, but, sometimes you gotta do it. Here's the cover:

A food tasting session was organised to try out Steamboat Dinner at Nexus's Frangipani, which was the beachside eatery. So knowing that it's an actual food tasting, I ate something beforehand, deliberately to spoil my appetite, and so that I could really savour the taste of what's being served.

The setting was beautiful!! Sunset, quaint music in the background.... But it was drizzling! BOY!! So we were moved into Noble House, which was not too bad as it was air conditioned.

We had all sorts of yummy things! Slipper Lobster, giant tiger prawns, quail eggs, various fish, beef and chicken balls, squid slices, fish.... the list goes on and on...

There was more than enough food to go around with. And for RM 85++, nothing can go wrong especially with a beautiful beach setting (which we experienced seperately). We all enjoyed our food tremendously, and the service was impeccable. Even after I spoiled my appetite, the food was truely sumptous. I believe it all lies in the fresh ingredients.. Thinking of a a future romantic dinner now.. PERFECT!

___________________________________________________________________

OK, so I'm stuffed and ready to go home. Just out of the Nexus junction, when my best friend called me. 10:30 pm - Wanna go out to eat?

Huh? But I just had dinner.... Ah well, since it was my friend, nothing wrong to accompany him.

So I picked him up, and we went to Upperstar.. Boy! It's been years since I last set foot in that place.. I wonder what it would be like now? It used to be where people get drunk (cheaply) before going on pub crawls in KK.

I was surprised. A lot has changed over the years. The interior is completely different and suave, and they've even opened up a second level. Guess business has been good!

Against my friend's advice, I had alcohol that night; Ice-Blended Mango and Bacardi.... To Die For!

And My friend had Nasi Lemak.. Which he didn't finish.. Guess it wasn't that good..

Eventually went home past midnight.. Phew!! That was indeed a full day for me.
