My House Set for Raya

Hard work pays off, and this Raya I've worked hard to restore the house to it's former look..

Someone should send me to the gallows for not updating this BLOG

Sorry people.. I have been procrastinating again with the blog, since I've been pretty busy with work and all.  Finally a break this Raya and I'll begin my posting with the celebration I have at home.

Tomorrow itself, my family will be organising Raya Open House and we're expecting about 150 guests..  Two sessions, one in the afternoon from 12:00pm - 3:00pm, and one in the evening from 7:00pm - 10:00pm.

My mom will be preparing some all-time favourites such as Rendang and Curry and her Kesturi Chicken, so now she's busy overseeing work in the kitchen.

As for me, I was designated driver / and meat carrier for the market trip this morning.  Don't laugh, the meat (chicken and beef) weighed a whopping 20 kgs combined and you know how painful it is when the plastic bag handle stretches down onto your fingers.

Plus, I was the one doing the hard work baking cookies and all, so nyeh nyeh..  I get to rest a bit today.

Anyway, here's wishing all readers Eid Mubarraq and Maaf Zahir dan Batin..

Showdiva Premier

SHOWDIVA PREMIER REVIEW

It was a night of frisky fun!! All waited with anticipation while the performers were getting ready. The turn-up was incredible!! Even by 10pm, Qbar was already packed with customers, most of them new. When I arrived, I had to stand behind a pillar, always shoved away by passing customers or waiters.. Phew!! If only you could see the crowd that night..

We had Grand Diva Lola, along with Helu, Riyo and Beth performing three sketches, namely Dreamgirls, Moulin Rouge Kampung Air and Priscilla Queen of the Dessert..

Performance was just OK, but perhaps it was the first show, so i guess they felt intimidated, especially with the huge turn up.

But with anything else in showbiz, it will improve with time.. Hopefully the performers could do a saucy and sexy performance the next round.

Can't wait for this Friday's show. The feature would be 'The Olympics'. Hmmm.. How would a crossdresser portray the Olympic? You find out yourself..

Best thing is, this week entrance is FREE.. FREE...FREE.. FREE...FREE.. FREE...FREE.. FREE...FREE.. FREE...FREE.. FREE...FREE.. FREE...FREE.. FREE...FREE.. FREE...

So, take this opportunity to see their performance.. Have fun, don't be a butter bun!

Mr. PK Q Universe 2008

Again another succesful event by the Management of Qbar Kota Kinabalu, the recent Mr. PK Q Universe displayed professionalism and initiative. Never has an event like this been held in Sabah, let alone Borneo, the line up of participants were no less impressive..

Between the category segments, a clever line-up of programme kept audience very much entertained, with the likes of the GRAND DIVA Lola, Diva Icon Queen for 2008 that brought a cassical Spanish teathrical number, which kept everyone at the edge of their seats, in anticipation for her alluring yet humourous gestures. Apart from that, Showboy Inc. performed a dance number which was pretty entertaining.

It was indeed a night of great fun, and it showed in the faces of the many satisfied customers, and many were looking forward to the upcoming event in August.

My Nephew - His first Days of School

What can I say? Time flies so quickly.. Edzra Siddhartha is growing up so quickly.. One minute, he could fit in the palm of my hands, next thing you know, he's a small fireball running around spreading joy (and sometimes destruction)..

Well, everyone must go through this phase, so this is his first exposure in school.. Pre-School really. Today's friday, so he's sporting his outdoor uniform. Very CUTE.. I don't think he likes school very much, since he always looks forward to going home.. My dad, who sends and pick him up, would usually make a detour to the nearest Servay Hypermarket before heading for home, just for a bit of Look-See-Look-See..

....SIGH....

Don't you wish that you could re-live your childhood days again?

To all of you that are into biscuits and the regular afternoon tea, next time you go down to a shop, consider buying this product..
I stumbled upon it at the apek shop in Malawa, and decided to give it a try..It was very nice.
The pastry was crumbly, the filling had a savoury, pungent but sweet taste to it, and slightly Jammy in consistency.. Best thing was that this product is certified HALAL.
Selling at RM 2.20, there are 8 pieces in a pack, which would be just nice for 2 people (except if you had me over for tea, I'll have a pack on my own.. Ha ha).

COUCH POTATO - Little Lampupuks

This is my niece. She's only 2 years of age and already becoming a couch potato.

I took this shot this morning.

By the way, these sugar tops remind me so much of my childhood. Saw it in an Apek Shop down in Malawa and had to get it. Great for when having tea!

Anyone out there with suggestion of food that remind you of your childhood memories, please give me a holler. I'll hunt it down for you.

My Cat - Shana's Cat

This cat is huge! But as docile as a kitten.. He doesn't miaow like other cats, instead it makes 'meh meh' sound, so we call him Meme.. Neutered since it was a kitten, this cat is already 4 years old..
Breed : Chantily/Tiffany
Age : 4 years
Weight : 5.2 KG
Length (Head-Tail) 3 Feet
Height : 1 foot

Lisbeth & Colin - Congratulations!

This would only be pictorial.... Ok I'm lying! Can't resist the tempation to criticize food... Anyway, was at Lisbeth and Colin's wedding reception last night, which was held at the ever-popular Promenade.. Can't say much about the hotel as I used to frequent the place a lot for gym or for food (that was almost an oxymoron!).

The newlyweds... Kissing on stage, with the parents looking, along with hundreds of guests.. (Cricket Chirp) I bet that was awkward!

Starters - Hot and Cold Combination.... Aaaa... average.
Food entry presentation was boring though. Can't people come up with something new?!

Soup - Fish Maw and Scallop - aaaa.... Average..

Barbequed Chicken with Garlic and Sweet Dip/Spiced Salt - YUMM!!!

Steamed Garoupa in Supreme Soya Sauce - I think supreme soya sauce spoiled the fish! It overpowered the sweetness of the fresh fish, plus our fish was oversteamed, evident here from the peeling skin.. Plus the fish looked grotesque, so I took the opportunity to take a photo from this angle, so that it might remind you of a zombied corpse on a table..
Sliced Beef with Black Pepper Sauce - I think the name should be 'Black Sliced Beef in Pepper Sauce'.. What's with the colour? Every bite reminds me of the time I had to take charcoal pills..

Deep Fried Buttered Prawns - Presentation was nice, portioning good, taste was good, but selection of prawn size is questionable.. Some prawns were merely shrimps! Plus I counted and there were a lot of prawn heads rather than the actual prawn itself..

Braised Tao Pau with Bamboo Weeds - My absolute favourite... WHY? Because when it came out, it looked like a dog just barfed over our vegetable. Dear Chef, please don't over 'sauce', especially with ingredients that are slippery and slimy as they absorb more fluid and take on wierd shapes.. The taste was good, but several people on my table refused to try it because it looked disgusting..SIGH

Curry Fried Rice with Chicken Meat and Prawns - Have we run out of ideas? Curried Fried Rice? Come on! Enough Said..

Anyway, rather than being progressively disappointed with the food, I diverted my attention to my friends as they were equally making fun of each other... :P
